  1. Music Guru is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office. Lisa Pipkin (Music Guru Creator) and your designated teacher are the “controllers” of your data.

  2. Data Held. Music Guru holds personal contact information as well as information about each student’s musical education for example their progress, objectives, exam results and goal tracking. We only hold the data needed to provide the services you engage us to provide.

  3. What your data is used for. At Music Guru, we take your privacy seriously and will only use your personal information to administer your account and to provide the services you have requested from us. However, from time to time we would like to contact you with details of other events and services we provide that we feel will be of interest to you (holiday clubs, ensembles, concerts etc.).

    The majority of the time contact will be made regarding scheduling adjustments, timetables, cancellations or emergencies, therefore we would like to have the option to contact you via any means possible. If your teacher needs to cancel a lesson last minute due to an emergency, illness etc. our quickest form of communication would be by telephone and SMS. Due to recent changes in the law please confirm how you would like us to contact you.

Please note this information will not be provided to any third party organisation for marketing purposes without your prior consent. There may however be the odd occasion where information will be passed on without specific consent, for example to an established examination board for arranging music exams. All reasonable steps are taken to ensure your data is processed and stored securely.
